Abstract

Aim of the Study: Artificial intelligence (AI) is the capacity of a computer or robot under computer control to carry out operations typically performed by intelligent entities. The purpose of the study was to know about how young people view about artificial intelligence, the information they have access to, and their degree of satisfaction.

Methodology: The quantitative research was conducted at selected institutions in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Pakistan and data was collected from 234 respondents’ age from 20 to 30 years old. All of the selected participants were enrolled in higher education had some knowledge about artificial intelligence. The target sample was approached physically and selected using purposive sampling technique.

Findings: Findings indicates a correlation between unfavorable perceptions of AI and levels of trust in it. In light of this, there is still some overlap between our findings and those of previous research. Overall, the study's findings support the notion that people are aware of artificial intelligence (AI), that they make judgments about moral, legal, and private matters in high-stakes situations, and that there is still a disconnect between people's perceptions of what AI can and cannot do.

Conclusion: In conclusion, the study highlights the importance of both media communication and user experience in shaping perceptions of AI. Media organisations should provide accurate, balanced, and accessible information about AI’s capabilities, limitations, and social implications. Similarly, AI developers and service providers should prioritise reliability, convenience, transparency, and effective customer support to improve user experiences.
